For Steering Committee Members

Calapooia Watershed Council

Roles of a General Member:

- Understand and explain the Council’s purpose and mission

- Be aware of the status and purpose of current projects

- Be actively involved in a project or committee

- Understand the basic organization and governing bylaws

- Participate in discussions and contribute to solutions

- Act as a liaison to the community by collecting & sharing information

- Advocate for the Council’s vision

- Listen to fellow council members and respect decision-making process

- Play an active role in helping the Council define and respect ground rules

- Ensure that council decisions are respected and supported outside meetings and

in the community

- Encourage others to be involved in the Council and recruit new members

and participants
