Distinguishing Characteristics
- Semi-evergreen shrub
- Grows nearly 10 feet high
- Alternate, pinnately compound leaves
- Ribbed, thorny canes (stems)
- White flowers, black tasty fruits BUT plants can produce up to 13,000 seeds per square meter!
- Re-sprouts through rhizomes and root crowns
- Canes can form roots at tips and nodes
