Riparian Restoration
A significant portion of our revegetation program is focused on riparian or streamside buffer restoration.
Noxious weeds are removed using Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices. Native trees and shrubs are then planted and maintained until they are considered “free-to-grow”. Project goals include water quality benefits such as water filtration, summer stream temperature cooling, future large wood recruitment into waterways for fish and wildlife habitat, and habitat diversity for riparian-dependent terrestrial organisms.
