Sarah Norton, Calapooia Watershed Council’s new Outdoor School Coordinator

Savannah Baber, Youth Education Manager left the council to embark on a whole new future! After getting married in June, Savannah made the decision to enter Nursing School. Everyone at the council as well our education partners will miss her sorely, but we wish Savannah all the very best for her new future. We’re sure we’ll be seeing her again around the watershed, volunteering for Outdoor School here and there!

The council was thrilled to welcome Sarah Norton to the position of Outdoor School Coordinator in September. Originally from upstate New York, Sarah has found her home in Oregon in continuing and improving the Council’s excellent outdoor school program. She has a bachelor’s degree in Fish and Wildlife Science from Paul Smith’s College in New York, and a Master’s degree in Environmental Education from Southern Oregon University. Sarah is excited to provide place-based learning opportunities for students about their unique local environment. During her free time, Sarah can be found outside birding, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. We’re really excited for the excellent experience and enthusiasm Sarah brings to the council and our Education Programs, welcome Sarah!
